Alcohol, too much coffee, the enemy of the immune system ..? - FOOD ARTICLE

Chips, bakery foods, and frozen foods are high in salt, which can weaken your immune system.
During the corona period we eat a wide variety of foods to boost our body’s immune system.
We forget what to eat while focusing on what to take for physical health.

Here are 5 common foods to avoid to avoid losing immunity.

 Sugar:

Controlling the amount of sugar added to the daily diet is good for overall health.  If you eat foods high in sugar, it will raise your blood sugar level and increase the production of inflammatory proteins such as necrosis alpha tumor, C-reactive protein and interleukin-6.  This can affect your immune system.

 Salt:

Eating too much salt can lower your immune system.  Chips, bakery foods, and frozen foods are high in salt, which can weaken your immune system.  Bacterial infections make it harder to fight.  The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends that adults consume a maximum of five grams of salt per day.  This is approximately the size of a teaspoon.  Excess salt intake increases glucocorticoid levels.

 Fried foods:

Fried foods weaken our immune system.  Thus causing serious damage to overall health.  According to research, eating fried foods can lead to serious heart disease and stroke. Eating French fries, samosas, packed chips or anything deep fried is at risk.  So it is better to avoid them.

 Alcohol:

Excessive alcohol consumption can weaken your immune system.  Exceeding a certain dose (one drink a day for women and two drinks a day for men) can affect your body's immune system.  Studies also show that people are more susceptible to diseases such as pneumonia and other respiratory problems.

 Caffeine:

Excessive coffee / tea consumption can disturb your sleep.  Thus inhibiting inflammatory processes.  This will push the body to compromise its immune system.  So avoid caffeinated foods.  It is also good to avoid coffee and tea.
